Current List of Ontario Credit Unions and Caisses Populaires

Here is the current list of Ontario credit unions. This list is kept up to date to reflect changes (for example, when one credit union or caisse populaire merges with another or a new credit union opens).

Credit Union Mergers

When Ontario credit unions merge, deposits remain covered by DICO.

Your existing deposit insurance coverage does not change when one credit union buys another, or when two or more credit unions join together to become one. Any money that you had deposited is still insured at the new credit union. But it is important to find out how depositing or withdrawing money from the new credit union will affect your coverage if you had deposits at each of the merging credit unions.

If your credit union is a member of DICO and merges with another credit union, talk to your credit union manager or staff or contact us.

Credit Unions in Liquidation:

The following credit unions are in the process of being liquidated:

  • CCB Employees' Credit Union (May 2018)
  • Croatian (Toronto) Credit Union Inc. (October 2010)
