Deposit Insurance Corporation of Ontario Public (DICO) Accessible Customer Service Policy

The Deposit Insurance Corporation of Ontario (DICO) supports the full inclusion of persons with disabilities as set out in the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms, Ontario Human Rights Code, the Ontarians with Disabilities Act (ODA), 2001 and the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA), 2005.

DICO is committed to creating a more accessible organization by helping to remove barriers for people with disabilities. To fulfill this commitment, DICO, in partnership with eSSENTIAL Accessibility, has come together with major global brands to offer a free assistive technology app that helps people who have trouble typing, moving a mouse or reading better navigate the Web, improving the online experience for DICO customers with disabilities.

The eSSENTIAL Accessibility app™ provides a suite of keyboard and mouse replacement solutions, among other tools, designed to help people with physical, learning and age-related disabilities get online. Simple to use, the app is activated in moments and can be used by people with a variety of conditions, such as:

  • Stroke/paralysis
  • Arthritis
  • Multiple Sclerosis (MS)
  • Parkinson’s disease
  • Cerebral Palsy (CP)
  • Mild visual impairment
  • Limited proficiency in English
  • Literary deficiencies
  • Dyslexia
  • Other learning or reading issues

The eSSENTIAL Accessibility app is free to the end user and can be downloaded by clicking the blue wheelchair and keyboard symbol below or on the homepage of DICO's web site.
